The post-adoption journey begins once a child comes home.
At Lifesong Canada, we believe every child deserves the love of a family. As a Christian ministry, our goal is for children to be adopted into and thrive in traditional Christian families, which means post-adoption care is important.
We understand that every adoption includes loss and trauma. By God’s grace, we believe that healing is possible.
Post-Adoption Financial Assistance is to help families receive:
- counseling (for your adopted child, siblings, family or yourself)
- assessment to access or qualify for specialized services
- training for adopted child or you as parents
- trauma care, like EMDR therapy
- neurofeedback or other interventions

Criteria for Financial Assistance
As a Christian charitable organization, we seek to come alongside Christian families or couples in Canada who have obeyed the call of God to enlarge their family through adoption, are committed to train and educate their children in accordance with Biblical principles, and who need financial assistance for services related to their adopted child(ren).
In allocating funds for post adoption care, Lifesong Canada considers the following criteria:
- Leading of the Holy Spirit as we pray for wisdom
- The needs of the adopted child or family member not covered by medical plans, government benefits or Child Services
- The financial needs of the adoptive family
- Involvement with a local Christian church they attend
- Availability of funds
Process Overview
- You may only submit one (1) Post Adoption Care Assistance Application per year to Lifesong Canada.
- Lifesong Canada must receive the completed application before reviewing to ensure compliance with CRA guidelines.
- Due to the volume of applications received, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing..
- All applications are prayerfully reviewed and decided upon by an independent Advisory Group, through an objective evaluation and autonomous decision-making process. The Advisory Group does not state its reasons for denying assistance to any particular family and a denial does not constitute a judgment that the family is a “bad” family.
