Sustainable Business

You can help prevent orphans by strengthening families and creating jobs through sustainable business that employ orphan graduates and build ongoing community development.

Beyond our mission to educate, feed, and disciple vulnerable children in Zambia, Lifesong is also passionate about providing sustainable business opportunities. These opportunities allow us to work side-by-side with Zambians as we get involved in various business ventures, all with the goal of having businesses that can sustain themselves and the ministry.

Each business offers fair wages for employees, creates career opportunities for Lifesong graduates, and supports orphan care projects such as Lifesong schools and safe homes.

Sustainable Businesses Reports

Lifesong Lodge

The Lifesong Lodge is located in Kitwe, Zambia, about ten minutes from Lifesong Harmony Chipata School. The Lodge has been recently renovated and serves to provide accommodation for both work teams and the public.

All the proceeds, after expenses, go back into the ministry. The Lodge is managed and staffed by Zambian locals.

Roast Cafe

The Roast Cafe is part of Lifesong Lodge. We sell freshly baked goods and coffee to the public and support our community by employing local Zambians and teaching them business skills. Any baked goods that are not sold are donated to various ministries, such as a local ministry supporting children living on the streets.

We use Gobena Beans for our coffee, which is an organization that is dedicated to donating 100% of their net profits back into orphan care initiatives.

Lifesong Farms

Lifesong currently has two farms; Twalima Farm and the Berry Farm. We’ve been busy learning new technology and developing cutting-edge techniques to extend the growing season and sell high-quality produce year-round.

Each farm is an opportunity to provide employment to locals, generate funds that fuel orphan care, and pour back into our local economy.

Goals of Sustainable Business
